Jonathan’s ex-aide, two others dump PDP for APC

Three chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Saturday, February 11, defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos state, Vanguard reports.

According to the report, 17 more chieftains of the PDP in Lagos state are undergoing screening before they would qualify to be admitted to APC fold in the coming days.

This was disclosed by Otunba Henry Ajomale, the chairman of the Lagos state chapter of APC.

Receiving the defectors at the APC secretariat in Acme, Ikeja, said: “17 chieftains of PDP are on the list to join our party. They are currently undergoing screening before they will qualify to be admitted into APC in few days’ time.”

It was gathered that the defectors are key PDP leaders in Ibeju- Lekki, Chief Bode Oyedele, Alhaji Yahaya Adeniyi Dosunmu and Hon. Tony Bakare.

Oyedele was presidential adviser on Ecology under former President Goodluck Jonathan, while Dosunmu was treasurer of Alliance for Democracy (AD) under the chairmanship of Alhaji Rafiu Ogunleye who later became Lagos deputy governor.

Speaking on behalf of the defectors, Chief Oyedele recalled efforts made by several leaders of APC to woo him back into the ruling party.

He commended the infrastructural development the Lagos state government had brought to his areas.
