We‘ll make Edo medical haven in South-South – Obaseki
Godwin Obaseki of Edo state has reiterated the commitment of his administration in ensuring that the 5-star Central Hospital becomes a medical haven for the people of the South South and Nigerians in general.
The governor who stated this when he received chairman and members of the state Hospital Management Board who paid him a courtesy visit in his office, said the state government was working round the clock to equip the hospital with state-of-the-art medical facilities.
Obaseki who was represented by his deputy, Comrade Philip Shaibu, said beyond the issue of industrializing the state, one of the cardinal focus of his administration was to make the state a medical tourism destination and that this could be achieved through vibrant personnel.
He urged the Chairman of the board, Prof. Ebegue Amadasun to put together all that was needed to equip the hospital so as to enable the state government achieve its plans in the health sector.
“It cannot be medical tourism if most of these issues you have raised are not addressed. Some of were already known to government,” assuring that they would be addressed.
“Our people voted for continuity and consolidation therefore they need the best and the governor is ready to meet their demands.
Earlier, leader of the delegation and Chairman of hospital management board Prof. Ebegue Amadasun thanked the governor for finding time out of his busy schedules to receive members of the group, adding that the visit was to congratulate the governor on his well-deserved victory at the September 28, 2016 polls.
